Kids and Energy drinks

So I have been reading online, (I know this can be dangerous, but you know me) and found a woman/mother suing MONSTER energy over the death of her 14 year old daughter. Do NOT misunderstand me, as a mother I have sympathy for the mother losing her child, but on the other hand why would you buy your child an energy drink?

OK so if she would have drank 3 red bulls, it would have been the same amount as a 24 oz Monster. My question is what PARENT buys their kids Monsters???? I mean really, like your kids dont get enough sugar from their cereal, candy, lunch snacks, after school snacks, but you go out and buy your child an ENERGY drink?

I have NEVER bought my kids an "energy drink" they don't need it. Also knowing my child had a heart condition, caffeine speeds up your heart rate, and you still chose to buy the energy drinks?

I do not understand which direction America is going, but I think its the wrong way.
